PE & Athletics

SES nurtures the development of each student to achieve their spiritual, intellectual, physical and social potential. Catholic values matter!

We were awarded Blue Zones certification!

One of the recent major accomplishments for our school was the awarding of the Blue Zones certification. Due to our efforts and focus on health, fitness and overall well-being, we are known as one of the schools in the Southwest Florida community that promotes healthier living habits. Our “Seton 60” movement program was recognized as an innovate way to have every person in our school community make the effort to move for a minimum of 60 minutes a day with the goal of creating a healthier-happier place. Our school mission statement was updated to include the word “physical” in emphasizing our commitment to athletics and fitness by “nurturing the development of each student to achieve their spiritual, intellectual, physical and social potential.”

Athletics – The Seton Way

The Team Sports program at Seton offer the students a tremendous opportunity for practicing and competing in many different sports such as: soccer, volleyball, basketball, and cross country. The Grade level for participation in Cross Country is 3rd-8th grade boys and girls. For all other sports, JV is 4th-6th grade and Varsity is 6th-8th grade. Seton boys’ varsity basketball and varsity girls soccer won the Sunshine athletic league championship for the 2018-2019 school year.

The purpose of our sports program is to promote the development of the participants’ athletic skills through teaching, practicing, and competition. Most importantly, we strive to develop in our athletes, good character, leadership abilities, and citizenship by teaching the importance of practice, preparation, and sportsmanship in reaching one’s potential. This is known as the “Seton Way”. The P.E. Program is excellent for building basic motor, sport and fitness concepts and practices. Many of the skills required for competitive athletics are taught in physical education classes and proper nutrition is emphasized throughout the PE and sports program.
