Academics

Everything we teach at SES is inspired by our values. Catholic education is different. Regarding the Catholic school curriculum itself, the Church requires a systematic presentation of knowledge that's faithful to the idea of core knowledge and the hierarchy of truths.

St. Elizabeth Seton is proud to be accredited by the Florida Catholic Conference, a member of the National Council for Private School Accreditation.

The FCC Accreditation Program is one of the oldest and most well respected Catholic accrediting programs in the country. Every seven years, each school in the Diocese of Venice is reaccredited to insure schools continue to meet the highest standards for Catholic educational excellence. Each school participates in a continuous school improvement process involving input from all stakeholders culminating in reaccreditation. St. Elizabeth Seton School was reaccredited in 2018. FCC accredits over 180 Catholic schools in Florida.

Key facets of the program include:
  • The rubrics for the National Standards and Benchmarks for Effective Catholic Elementary and Secondary Schools are the core of the program
  • Each school completes an annual report reviewing the level of compliance with each benchmark
  • An online system is used for the annual report, self-study, and visitation
  • The standards are divided into four domains: Mission and Catholic Identity, Governance and Leadership, Academic Excellence, and Operational Vitality
