We’ve had a short but productive week at Seton!  Remember that next Friday, September 14th is a half day for students because the afternoon is set aside for parent-teacher conferences.  This is a great time to meet with your child’s teacher to discuss progress as well as concerns.  Teachers have been reaching out to schedule times to meet.  Be sure to get in touch with your child’s teacher to make an appointment.  Note that students will be dismissed at noon next Friday.

Have a great weekend, and be sure to read the announcements below:

IT’S RAINY SEASON!!! Please have students bring a rain poncho to school!!!

AFTER SCHOOL CARE FEES

Our new procedure of collecting aftercare fees through each family’s FACTS Prepay account is going very well.  Families are required to deposit funds into their FACTS Prepay account prior to using aftercare.  Fees will be collected from Prepay accounts each Monday for the prior week.  If funds cannot be collected in full by Tuesday morning, a $5.00 late fee per week will be charged until payment is received.  Email reminders to add funds will not be sent to parents after September 14th, 2018. If you need assistance with your Prepay account, please contact Elaine Pearce, school accountant at pearce@seseton.org.

MIDDLE SCHOOL SPIRITUAL RETREAT FUNDRAISER

Please see the message below from Mr. Ganse regarding the spring spiritual retreat for middle school students.  Please support this wonderful effort!  THE DEADLINE FOR ORDERING IS SEPTEMBER 10TH!

Dear Seton Families,

Once again, this Spring the middle school students will have an awesome opportunity to grow in their faith and love for Christ and His Church.  I have coordinated through the diocese to have the National Evangelization Teams (NET Teams) come to Seton and lead a spiritual retreat.  Last year we had the NET Team here at Seton and the middle schoolers loved them!  Here is some general information about NET:

NET Ministries challenges young Catholics to love Christ and embrace the life of the Church. Every August, 175 young Catholics aged 18-28 leave behind their jobs, school, family, and friends to devote nine months to serving with the National Evangelization Teams (NET).

Divided into 16 teams, they travel across the U.S. for nine months to share the Gospel with young people and their families. Since 1981, NET teams have led over 32,000 retreats and ministered to more than 1.9 million young Catholics.

NET Ministries fulfills its mission by:

  • Proclaiming the Gospel of Christ through a personal witness of faith
  • Inviting young people to live for Christ
  • Forming young people in Christian character through the study and practice of their faith
  • Equipping youth workers and young adults with the ministry skills needed for evangelization.

In efforts to prepare for this exciting event, the middle classes once again be conducting several fundraising appeals through Mystic Monk Coffee (which are Carmelite monks in Wyoming).

Over the next few weeks, you can make your orders from the attached catalog and order form.   All orders can be brought to the school office (entitled Coffee Fundraiser), your classroom teacher, or to Mr. Ganse.  Checks should only be made out to St. Elizabeth Seton.  Monday, September 10 is the deadline for this first coffee fundraising campaign. If you have any questions you can email Mr. Ganse at ganse@seseton.org   I will hold a second coffee order campaign in the Fall.  Thank you for your love and support of the middle school students.

Blessings,

Mr. Ganse
