COUNSELOR’S CORNER

World Mental Health Day is observed across the globe on Wednesday, October 10th. The objective is to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world and to mobilize efforts in support of mental health. It also is meant to remind us to open our hearts and allow people to talk about their mental health without judgement or stigma. Remember that mental and emotional health is as important as physical health!

AR READING:
Parents, a reminder that Seton is following the “Read 20 Minutes a Day” chart for reading homework. Your child in 1st-8th grade understands this chart. An essential question for you to ask your 2nd-8th grade child: “Did you make your September AR goal?” Please refer any questions about AR to your child’s reading teacher. Thank you for being a partner in your child’s education!

SETON SCHOOL WIDE SERVICE PROJECT

In conjunction with Respect for Life Month during October, our school has partnered with Community Pregnancy Clinics (CPCI) in Collier County. This organization provides many support services for mothers and babies in need, including pregnancy health services, counseling, crisis intervention, prenatal classes and material support. Our partnership with CPCI offers an opportunity to support a culture of life by contributing to help many families in the area who have minimal resources.

Each class was given a Baby Bottle Bank to collect money throughout the month of October. Additionally, there are donation bins in the Parish Center to collect baby items such as diapers, wipes, baby wash/shampoo, and new or gently used baby clothes in sizes newborn through 5T. Your generosity in supporting this worthy service project is most appreciated.

MIDDLE SCHOOL N.E.T. RETREAT FUNDRAISER

Important Message from Mr. Ganse

Dear Parents,

Over the next week, we are continuing our coffee fundraising efforts for the middle school N.E.T. Retreat which will be taking place in March. Our catalog is updated with the biggest selections we’ve ever been able to offer! You can shop Coffee, Teas, Monks Shots (K-cups), and Seasonal Coffees.

Inside our updated catalog, you find all your Fall favorite flavors: Pumpkin Spice (available for Sept.-Nov.), Thanksgiving Blend (available for Oct. and Nov.), and Snickering Candy Bar Blend (available for only October). Checks should be made out to St. Elizabeth Seton School for all orders. Our sale deadline is Friday Oct. 12.

Our next order will be in late October, early November in which your favorite Christmas blends will be available. This might be a perfect opportunity to start your gift shopping for the upcoming holidays! Maybe even people at your work might like a brew or two. Spread the word around if you can.

Our middle school students thank you in advance. Not only do you support us with your purchase, but you also help the Carmelite monks who roast and brew the coffee. Supporting two in one shot…blessings from heaven!

Peace in Christ,
Mr. Ganse
